System solution for every situation

Controlling rolling doors and roller grilles flexibly and safely

Since May 2005, safety regarding the usage and product characteristics of manual and power-driven doors has been regulated under DIN EN 13241-1. This European norm harmonises safety standards for the manufacture, sale, planning and installation of such doors, and is intended to minimise any possible risks, such as that of someone becoming trapped. The on-site door builder has to assume the warranty for all parts functioning correctly, however. With the BoxControl from elero there is now a variable system which can be compiled in line with the installation situation and which ensures compliance with safety standards: The components have been tested and certified in line with the European norms for doors and the electrical safety standards of VDE and TÜV.
More flexibility with plug-in card system
The new BoxControl D 400 comprises the control housing, which is protected in line with IP 65, and one of the BoxCards – basic, plus or premium. These three plug-in cards contain the control functions for various application profiles. The cards are inserted in the housing and can be interchanged at any time. They can also be changed at a later date, so as to expand the functionality of the control for instance.
Clever controls
The BoxCard basic is designed for the control of doors and gates that are only used occasionally – for warehouses at smaller companies for example. It can be used as a dead man or pulse contact control. In addition, external evaluation devices and remote controls can be connected to this control.
Everything under control
With a large number of users, e.g. for commercial and industrial halls, the BoxCard plus is used. When the door is open, the BoxCard plus tests within milliseconds the opto-electric or electro-mechanical door-edge safety system. This ensures that the stop function is always ready for operation in the event of any obstacles, and the door or grille is raised again immediately. There are also terminals for retrofitting with radio technology, a light barrier, an additional limit switch or an emergency key-operated switch. The additional limit switch ensures that the door stops in the last five centimetres but cannot be raised again if there is a small stone in the way. Moreover, the BoxCard plus has an interval counter with an LED display showing the prescribed maintenance intervals.
Green light for safety
There is a further BoxCard for rolling doors and roller grilles with a traffic light function: The BoxCard premium tests not only the door-edge safety system with every movement but also the light barrier for the pull-in protection. The menu-driven parameterisation allows for settings and error diagnosis to be performed easily. Here, for example, it is possible to program the period of time that should elapse before an open door is closed again. In addition to a radio control, it is also possible to connect a timer which keeps the door open permanently at certain times, or a door status display.
