More and more users are profiting from the benefits of intelligent sun sensors to control their roller shutters. To date, however, only devices with a combined sun/wind protection function have been available. That solution makes sense for venetian blinds and awnings in exposed locations but not necessarily for roller shutters which are stable enough to resist strong gusts of wind. elero has taken this characteristic into account and developed a separate sun sensor specifically for roller shutters – the Lumero-868.
Cable-free sensors afford sun protection
Thanks to its wireless technology and integrated solar cells, the intelligent sun sensor Lumero-868 is a stand-alone device. Whereas other sensors have to be connected to a central control unit and a household power supply, the Lumero-868 merely has to be affixed to the exterior wall of the house with two screws. In this respect it is not only a practical solution for the automation of roller shutters, but can also be used to extend the coverage area in which light data is gathered for venetian blinds and awnings already fitted with a sun/wind sensor.
Uncomplicated installation thanks to wireless technology
When retrofitting existing systems, wireless technology shows its advantages over traditional cable systems through its ease of installation. Thanks to the interoperability of the elero product range it is possible to compile an optimum system for practically every installation situation: In addition to sensors such as the Lumero-868, elero’s control series ProLine and a wide range of versatile drive units can be combined with one another to achieve a truly individualised roller shutter solution. Like other wireless products from elero, the Lumero-868 uses the secure 868 MHz frequency. Given the statutory limits placed upon signal duration, interference with other wireless devices such as mobile phones or radio headphones is eliminated.
