RevoLine: full steam ahead

elero presents a new drive generation

Dieter Walddörfer, technical director at elero, describes the product range expansion with the new drive generation RevoLine as an "important strategic step". After elero had launched the innovative control system ProLine at the last R+T trade fair, the in-company design engineers have now developed a new, forward-looking drive generation. The over 50 new drives are quieter and more gentle and treat roller shutters and awnings with care. The new product series will be launched at the R+T 2006 trade fair in Stuttgart (7th - 11th February 2006).
Powerful drives with the Soft concept
The RevoLine drives power roller shutters and awnings with high precision and finesse, and this despite the fault-tolerant, robust design. Slow speed, combined with authentic torque reduction, guarantees a gentle stop. This means a reduction in force, and the blinds’ lifespan increases as a result. This so-called “Soft stop“ contributes to significant noise reduction within the framework of the Soft concept. Additional programme elements are the special gear material and the noiseless hysteresis brakes. Their mode of operation is based on the effect of magnetic force, meaning that the brakes’ functioning is non-contact and non-abrasive. This means they are not susceptible to wear and tear and are maintenance-free.
Learning power curve for precision and safety
Whoever has assumed, up to now, that the control system is the only intelligent part of the domestic automation system will have to have a rethink. The RevoLine drives are equipped with a learning power curve: they measure path and force for each complete travel. This system means that the force available is continually adjusted to the ambient conditions, with the result that manual readjustment of the positions is no longer necessary. If the roller shutter encounters an obstacle or is frozen solid, the drive automatically switches off.
RevoLine is also designed intelligently with regard to running times: the torque regulation means that power is only expended as necessary. This thus prevents the drive from overheating, ensuring that the running time is significantly extended - during initial operations, for example.
Faster assembly thanks to multi-functional limit switch
The elero team has invested a great deal of time and effort in developing quick, easy assembly techniques for the drives. In addition to practical accessories such as latching adapters, motor bearings with click system and plug-in cables, the multi-functional limit switches succeed predominantly in accelerating initial operations. These can used both in situations with one stop above or below or with flexible shaft connections with no stopper. The easy programming system for the end positions is identical for the entire elero drive range: when starting from the upper or lower end position this position is programmed directly.
Rol, Sun and Vari: A suitable drive for every application
elero has created three different models for the RevoLine product range: the Rol for roller shutters, the Sun for awnings and the Vari, which can be used in both areas. Here, the short design, with a length of just 400 mm, has been incorporated into the standard range for the first time. All models are available with different torques, revolutions per minute and as radio drives. These combinations result in a product range of over 50 drives, providing an intelligent drive solution for every type of installation. The first RevoLine drives are expected to be available on the market from March 2006.
