canopy awning drive
Won't work? Oh yes, it will!

Suitable drives even for unusual sun protection

Roller shutters, venetian blinds or classic awnings are not always the non plus ultra – sometimes home occupants and businesses want special sun protection solutions. This is why elero not just offers standard solutions, but also has suitable automation solutions to meet individual wishes.

Works as if by magic
Folding shutters, for example, are used above all when restoring older properties and listed buildings. As these shutters are often difficult to access, opening and closing them by hand every day can be a painstaking task. With suitable drives from elero, however, it is easy to automate such shutters: An electronic limit switch system ensures that shutters move gently and that there is no clacking noise when a shutter reaches its end position. In addition, the limit switch system prevents the folding shutters working with too much force and therefore being permanently overstressed. The drives can be installed straight or inclined whereas the minimum wall thickness is 250 millimetres.

A different type of awning
Another interesting form of façade design is the canopy awning. This type of awning is often found in front of shops and cafés as a means of providing shade, or as an innovative element on residential properties. With the right form of motorisation from elero, the canopy awning can be extended and retracted without any manual intervention: A cord which is fixed onto the front bar of the canopy awning is pulled through the eyelet of every side arm and is wound around a shaft and unwound by the drive. For the selection of the correct drive, the shaft diameter and the awning weight have to be taken into account. If the drive is combined with accessories such as sun/wind sensors, the sun protection system is operated automatically – in line with the current weather situation.

Drive for façade construction
When it comes to shading for impressive windowed façades, the current trend is towards slats made of glass, metal or photovoltaic elements. Here, the business division elero Linearantriebstechnik offers a solution: the slat actuator system LIMAline. This system fits into structural profiles with a minimum width of 50 millimetres and guarantees precise and play-free slat rotations of up to 360 degrees. Thus LIMAline allows for interesting light effects: shading, daylighting and even sun position tracking. It prevents unpleasant glare common with glass façades. Furthermore, it allows for an array of new design possibilities for buildings, for example slats with different surfaces, colours or structures that can be mixed and matched to create interesting façade designs.
