In order to protect sensitive plants against too much sunshine it is recommended that the sun sensor Lumo-868 be deployed: It is affixed directly to the window pane using a suction cup.
Ready for all weathers

elero sensors control roller shutters, venetian blinds and awnings automatically in line with weather conditions

Sun sensors, rain sensors, wind sensors, individually or combined in one device, as a wired solution or a radio technology version: For the automation of roller shutters and sun protection the leading manufacturers offer a variety of devices. The majority of sensors are also available in differing versions – it is never easy to keep abreast of developments, therefore. The right choice of solution depends to a great extent on the sun protection and the installation situation – and naturally also on the requirements of the residents.

Roller shutters automatically provide shade
Sun sensors are the main choice for the automation of roller shutters – they may be used to protect sensitive plants close to windows against too much solar radiation and to keep the apartment cool in the hot midday sun. A possible solution here is the sun sensor Lumo: It is affixed with a suction cup on the inside of the window pane, measuring the level of direct sunlight for this window. It transfers the measured levels for the up/down commands via a control cable to an AstroTec control. The radio technology version of the sensor, the Lumo-868, transmits wireless signals to a radio receiver.

Protection against the wind for venetian blinds, protection against the sun for the residents
Venetian blinds – in contrast to roller shutters – not only protect against the sun, but also need protection from strong wind themselves. Thus sun/wind sensors combining both functions are generally deployed here. elero offers the sun/wind sensor Aero as a wired version and the Aero-868 Plus as a radio technology version. The Aero-868 Plus has two solar cells, with the effect that the power supply is also guaranteed even in an unfavorable installation situation. If the user would prefer to raise or lower the blind at the push of a button, yet still enjoy automatic protection against damage, a pure wind sensor such as the wired Ventero is the best solution.

Making sure awnings aren’t left out in the rain
The starting situation with awnings is similar to that with venetian blinds: Users want either a fully automatic solution and let a sun/wind sensor take care of the work – or prefer to control the sun protection using a hand-held transmitter. In the latter case it makes sense to at least install a wind sensor which protects the awning against damage caused by strong gusts of wind. The wind sensor Ventero is available for awnings as a wired or wireless version. Those wanting to play totally safe should also integrate a rain sensor. The wired Aquero reliably measures rainfall, and in the event of a downpour triggers the command to retract the awning. As it may be installed quickly and may be combined problem-free with other sensors, it is excellently suited to the retrofitting of existing sun protection systems.

Sun, wind and rain: One for all
Sun protection is perfectly prepared for all weather situations with the new Sensero-868 AC Plus. This radio technology sensor has sun, wind and rain functions, and may be adapted to suit widely varying installation situations and customer wishes. For the first time ever with a wind sensor the wind is not measured using a wind wheel, but via an inconspicuous air-flow sensor on the underneath of the device. The multi-sensor is not just particularly economical thanks to its price-performance ratio, but also due to its ease of installation: Various operating modes and pre-set threshold values allow for simple and swift commissioning. Thus users are equipped for any sudden change in the weather conditions.
